Polar Bears?

I gather much of my artistic inspiration from photos.  I can spend hours digging through images, taking pieces and parts - building my own story and composition for a painting.  What would I do without the internet as a resource?   There are so many interesting images being posted by people around the world.  The inspiration never stops.   The following images grabbed my attention today.  I don't particularly know why I started looking at polar bear images.  I think I started with the concept of "tundra".   A concept that logically fits with my painting aesthetic.  There is something about the the emotion and the color of these photos that makes me jump out of my chair and want to run to the art studio.

Six Weeks

I have six more weeks of project work at Nike until I will be free to work in the art studio again.  Six more weeks of analysis and training.  I will be doing my best to stay focused and give the project the attention it deserves.

I am looking forward to kicking off Summer of Art #6.  I have a series of inspiring photos that will be my beginning.  Some of the photos are of friends, which makes them even more interesting to work with, but switching gears into creative mode always takes longer than I expect.   If I can motivate to get into the studio on the weekends, that will help to start the ball rolling.

I plan to continue developing my "crackle" technique as well as work with the theme of people in a large expanse.
